Varuna Room
The Sound Layering Oasis (SLO) is a conceptual spa designed for metropolitan dwellers yearning to fade out the urban sound pollution around them. With rooms inspired by nature’s most calming and beautiful sounds, SLO offers a retreat to reset the senses, regenerate the mind and body, and restore a sense of inner peace.
The Varuna Room at SLO was inspired by the comfort and coziness felt during a rainy day at home, listening to the relaxing sound of rainfall on roofs and windows. To elevate the environment of the Varuna Room, modern architecture and decor are blended with lush vegetation, comfortable furnishings, and a state-of-the-art indoor rain system which recreates the sound and ambiance of a rainy day.

MOOD BOARD
Nature-inspired healing
Slo rain, quick peace.
Why rain? The simple and repetitive sound of rainfall allows an overstimulated brain to rest by producing alpha waves which induce a state of relaxation, meditation, daydreaming and introspections. Rain acts as white noise, allowing the brain to wonder - a mode which also heightens creativity.

Outdoor Booth Brand Activation
The tagline “they’re calling for rain” takes to life on a high-traffic downtown street, inviting those curious to pick up a phone receiver and listen to the calming sound of the rain at the other end of the line. Contrasting the urban noise outside the booth, the calming sound of rain will entice participants to call the spa’s number and book their time in the Varuna Room directly from the booth.
